My Background

I grew up in western Nigeria and obtained my BSc in Medical Laboratory Science with a sub-specialty in Chemical pathology. After graduation, I worked as a medical laboratory scientist for several years. Later, I earned a master’s degree in Health Informatics from Indiana University, Indianapolis. My thesis was titled “Building a User Composable Electronic Health Records System using Fast Health Interoperability Resources web components.” During my graduate studies, I also served as a research assistant at the Purkayastha Lab for Health Innovation.

I worked as a Data Analyst at the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) after graduate school, where I played a significant role in the state’s COVID-19 surveillance and reporting. I also contributed to optimizing workflows for reportable disease data from healthcare organizations across the state.

I have worked as a Data Programmer Analyst at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia since 2021. In this role, I specialize in healthcare data analytics using programming languages such as SQL, R, and Python. Also, I work with data engineering technologies like DBT and airflow, along with leveraging business analytics softwares such as PowerBI and QlikSense.

Beyond my professional life, I am an avid Arsenal FC fan, and I have a passion for outdoor activities like hiking and traveling. Feel free to reach out to me if you’d like to discuss data analytics, R programming, FHIR, recommend a great book, give hiking tips, suggest travel destinations, or banter about soccer.
